Master of Science in Business Analytics candidate

Hi there! My name is Phuong and I go by Anna. I am originally from Vietnam. I graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration (Finance major) from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst in December 2022. A few months before my graduation, I worked as a business analyst at Wayfair, an e-commerce company in Boston, for almost a year. In this role, I saw firsthand the power of leveraging my technical skills to inform profitable business strategies and building tools to improve inefficient business processes.

I moved forward to transition into data science by pursuing graduate studies at University of Washington, Seattle. I am currently working with Tableau company on a capstone project, as part of the masters program, to utilize analytics to optimize strategies within their digital marketing domain.

I take initiatives and ownership of different work of interests. Back in Vietnam, I used to lead different teams and projects at a non-profit organization to create educational opportunities for hundreds of disadvantaged children.

A nonprofit organization aiming to help disadvantaged children from several orphanages integrate into the community and to help student participants understand the value of volunteering.

I acted as a board member to oversee 7 annual projects, manage external relationships with domestic/international partners and sponsors, seek funding as well as maintain financial records of the organization.

Sugar Championship project

2019-2021

In 2019, I and my friend founded a project to host a soccer competition among local orphans and students and to attract scholarship funds for disadvantaged children. We successfully led a team of 10 to launch the project in Ho Chi Minh city.

In 2021, we continued with the second season. I advised and drove work alignment within a team of 20 to raise the scholarship fund and organize fundraising activities of $10,000 that created educational opportunities for ~70 disadvantaged children in 2021-2022 academic year.
